Dr. Brian Costello, an internationally renowned clinical psychologist with 32 years of experience, triumphantly battled esophageal cancer in 1998. Now he wants to help others overcome their physical and emotional obstacles.

Costello, who has a naturally optimistic and enthusiastic approach to life, says that since his near-death, two-year ordeal with esophageal cancer and other critical illnesses, his motto is “Service before self. That’s the way I’ve been re-made. “His experiences proved to him that as a complement to medical and surgical solutions, an optimistic and enthusiastic approach to life and pain, both physical and emotional, greatly contributes to Mind/Body Medicine healing.  As Costello says, “Before cancer, most of us knew that intuitively. Then I put theoris into practice, so my upcoming books will share practical ways to overcome setbacks and lead readers down the road to recovery.”

Among Costello’s 20 new techniques, suggestions are to find humor wherever possible, watching favorite movies, praying, surrounding yourself with all things positive and even wearing sunglasses during chemotherapy and even avoiding mirrors

Because his books will be published in several months will appear for downloading from this website, and because of the value of one-on-one therapy, “As Costello says, “In addition to helping people leverage a behavioral approach in illness combat, as a psychologist I have vast experience treating stress related issues, marriage and relationship adjustment, giftedness, learning problems and pain control.”. Costello received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from International College of Los Angeles. He was certified as a psychologist since 1975 and is chairman of the International Council of Integrative Medicine, member of numerous professional organizations and has received many awards. His research appears in numerous publications.
